Over August 27 & 28, a total of 2,000 people thronged the Muntri Neighbourhood — one of George Town’s most hidden gems — as it was transformed into a carnival of new tastes and discoveries with a variety of food, drinks, markets and music on offer at 13 participating outlets.
At 44 Muntri, myBurgerlab’s first ever pop-up in Penang sold out a whopping 1,500 scrumptious burgers, while festival-goers at Mish Mash enjoyed the ultimate food pairing with the Porky Bites & Rum Punches promotion.
Thirsty visitors could be found enjoying the Craft Beer Tasting Session at 44 Muntri’s tenant bar TAPS, Wine Tasting at Georgetown Wines and 1-for-1 Orang Kaya Coffee at Gala House.
And because it isn’t a festival without tunes, a selection of rising stars and seasoned performers such as Dasha Logan, Lemongrass, Elsa & Kelvyn and Anne-Marie Choon provided a live soundtrack all weekend long.
All in all, the inaugural Muntri Fest was true fun for the family, spanning markets, carnival-themed movies, and activities such as Decorate Your Own Cupcake at Passion Heart Cafe, Draw Your Own Postcard at The Daily Dose and the Camera Museum’s Heritage Photo Walkabout.
