This summer, get transported into the world of The Smurfs as they embark on an Asian Art Tour to convey their belief in harmony without boundaries. Created by Belgian comic artist Peyo in 1958, The Smurfs are making their first port of call in Hong Kong’s Harbour City! From 13th July to 9th August 2016, get transformed by Papa Smurf’s unique magic potion and transport yourselves to the wonderful world of The Smurfs!
Welcome to the Enormous “We’re All Smurfs” Village and Visit the 6-Metre Tall Mushroom House
Well-known to be ‘three apples tall’, The Smurfs enjoy a self-sufficient and restful life in the Smurfs Village. Using his secret magic potion, Papa Smurf has transformed the Ocean Terminal Forecourt of Harbour City into an enormous “We’re All Smurfs!” Village where visitors can experience the world of The Smurfs.
Using mushrooms as shelters, join 35 Smurf characters like Smurfette, Lazy Smurf, Clumsy Smurf and Painter Smurf and explore the tallest building in the village – a 6-metre tall gigantic mushroom house, learn magic spells under the guidance of Papa Smurf, play interactive games with other Smurfs and help protect the village from Gargamel and Azrael as they create havoc in the village!

World Premier of Original Artworks at “The Smurfs House of Stories”
Despite first appearing as a sidekick in “Johan & Peewit”, another comic story by Peyo, The Smurfs quickly caught the attention of numerous readers and was eventually granted their own adventures in comics, cartoons and even 3D films. Come and learn more about The Smurfs’ worldwide fame and how they have managed to capture the hearts of audiences for the past 58 years at the Gallery by the Harbour.
Here, the exhibition will pay homage to Peyo, the genius storyteller, with materials being exhibited to the world for the first time ever. Visitors will be able to completely immerse themselves in the world of The Smurfs as they take a look into Peyo’s recreated studio and look original works such as original copies of The Smurfs comic-strips, original plates and illustrations, as well as the original film of the first ever Smurf movie in the cinemas. Learn how to draw a Smurf with video tutorials and watch documentaries on the creation of The Smurfs as we appreciate their artistic values and learn more about the stories and beliefs behind the creation of The Smurfs.

“The Smurfs” Creative Model Exhibition – Local Artists Remodeling Eight Comic Scenes
Belgium, home of The Smurfs, has always been known as the shrine of European comics. To allow visitors to experience new excitement of the classic comic-strips of The Smurfs, Harbour City has invited two renowned local miniature artists, Tony Lai and Maggie Chan, to create and add various visual effects in models based on the key elements of eight 1:1 comic-strips of The Smurfs, leading us through the passage where the comic world and reality converge.

“The Smurfs Rarities Collection” Pop-up Store
“The Smurf Rarities Collection” Pop-up Store will be opened at Atrium 1 of Gateway Arcade, with a giant 4-metre high Smurf flying in the sky to greet visitors. Several limited edition collectibles, specifically those produced for this Hong Kong tour, will be available in the pop-up store during the exhibition. These include the 316L Black Steel Smurf figure (only 30 available worldwide), the wood-carved Smurf figure (only 100 available worldwide), the Hong Kong style Smurfette figure in a red, white and blue dress, as well as the Kung-Fu Smurf figure. Apart from these high-end collectibles, the pop-up store will also have toys and other items including little Smurf nightlights, talking Smurfs, heartbeat Smurfs and mini Smurf villages.

The Smurfs Summer School
Like how every Smurf has its own characteristics and talents, children are invited to attend Harbour City’s The Smurf Summer School to learn different skills such as farming, drawing and magic performances. Children can get a badge upon completing each skill and attend a graduation ceremony to officially become a Smurf!
